This painting was created in by Igor and Marina a couple born in Russia who collaborate on their art pieces. I have not determined who does which part of the pieces but as a team the results are quite successful. These are large scale oils on canvas.Their art is shown at a gallery in Napa called Caldwell Snyder - link to the left.

I've decided to make this blog more about contemporary art as that is my passion. My own art is a necessity, but my love of other peoples art is what inspires me. This is one of my (fairly recently found) photographers Francesca Woodman. I came across a biography her parents did of her and her work and was absolutely fascinated. She, well, committed suicide is 1981. Can we still call her work contemporary even if it's over 30 years old? I think so. Absolutely phenomenal! Dear Francesca rip my dear - you were one of the best. Where did you find these places and how did you create this piece??

New Mexico - heading west to hot springs. Painted around 2000 (?) I painted this referencing a b&w photo. Sometimes I like to paint from the feeling of being there.

  A tripdict I did about 8 years back. The lotus flower. I'm not sure why the pink one remains horizontal.

I've been working on this one for years. Starting to paint again but starting small. This painting is about 2' by 3'.

Bird at Coot Lake

 

 This little guy was painted last summer. Inspiration was birds in bush at Coot lake and likely this   painting below.
