Diane Radley: GARDEN: NEW TO GARDENING - Well really it's just been a long time since I've had a yard. Here are some tricks and things I'm learning. ...
PROBLEM: Something was eating my strawberries - I thought it was the birds.
SOLUTION: I tried netting which was not successful HOWEVER CD's hanging that could reflect light seemed to do the trick. The reflective light from the CDs apparently appear like fire to the birds. Side note: if squirrels are eating your fruit plant peppermint - apparently they dislike the smell. Peppermint in container on bottom right.

Website of Ashley Collins. She does super large scale paintings. I would consider them somewhat abstract but realistic at the same time, incorporating illustrations of people or animals with papers. Awesome stuff. Many people are intrigued by her story of her early years when she lived small and spent most of her earnings on materials.

One
of my favorite contemporary galleries in Santa Fe is the Selby Fleetwood
Gallery - representing artist as Christina Chalmers and Rodney Hatfield.
If you are ever in Santa Fe don't miss the galleries on Canyon Road. http://www.selbyfleetwoodgallery.com/artists
Christina Chalmers creates dress sculptures and paints as well. Here is one of her sculptures. These works are quite interesting in person however I could see this being hung as photo as well.
Rodney Hatfield creates fun fantasy colorful paintings like this one below.

This painting was created in by Igor and Marina a couple born in Russia who collaborate on their art pieces. I have not determined who does which part of the pieces but as a team the results are quite successful. These are large scale oils on canvas.Their art is shown at a gallery in Napa called Caldwell Snyder - link to the left.
